We visit Nelson a couple of times a year to visit Family, and every time I go down I book myself two hours of time with my friend Judith (but ends up being four hours!).
Judith runs a bead shop out of her own home, selling everything from the basic necessities to beautiful beads, to beading lessons on necklaces, earrings, bracelets and the likes. I had never even touched a bead prior to meeting Judith, but from my first visit it has become a welcomed hobby.
The difference between Judith's place and those others I have been to since, is that Judith makes you feel welcome and relaxed. With a fresh cuppa coffee or tea, you can sit down without any pressure, take up space on one of the tables, and slowly peruse your way through all the beads and come up with your own design.
With Judith's help and understanding of what you may be thinking, you're pretty much guaranteed to make something you are bound to wear. She is not expensive and has many interesting beads that she herself uses to make necklaces for sale. On top of all this, she has a darling personality that you just can't help but love!
If you would like to try beading or if you would like to check her out and spend some hours relaxing and creating, then check out her website or get in contact with her. Whether you already live in Nelson, or you are just passing through, it is definitely worth a look.
