Oratia Farmers Market - PTV #2

So you want fresh fruit and veges?  Same here!  Certain places where we live are just not close enough to cheap, fresh veges.  First, price wise, they shouldn't be expensive and secondly, they should be fresh!  I don't know about you, but I am getting more disappointed with the fruit shops that say they are fresh, but in fact they have been frozen solid and are only just defrosting!  Arghhhhh!.  So, what am I getting at?  A 20 minute drive from the CBD, in the direction of our beautiful West Coast beaches, can get you freshly picked and cheap veges!  with other things as well ....

One of our weekend routines is to jump in the car (sometimes with the gummies if need be) and head out to the Oratia Farmers Market. It has to be one of Auckland's favourite farmers' market with fresh fruit, veg, bread, pasta, chocolate, cheese, meat, smoked fish, olive oil, baking, roses... and so much more! Weekly buskers create a chilled and fun atmosphere and the Artisan Winery helps host it.

Fresh coffee is available to have while you walk around, and make sure you bring those shopping bags of yours as $20 will get a full bag of freshly picked veges!
